Intern Project

This project is a web design project that will be run by our interns. They will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of the project. The project will be built using Angular and will be hosted on Microsoft Azure. The project will be a single page application that will be used to showcase the iEXCEL Model applied to web design.

Applied to web design, the iEXCEL Model is a process that can be used to implement experiential learning and improve human effectiveness and performance in any industry. The project will be built using our reusable templates models and will be a great example of how to use the design system.

Scott's Scholars Overview

Overview

This internship for the iEXCEL intern was designed to focus on a delivering a working, tested, and functional piece of software by the end of the internship. Jesse and I worked collaboratively to create technical design documents, include stakeholder feedback and requirements, and build a meaningful product, as well as something to include in a portfolio.

The team utilizes cloud infrastructure that represents the cutting edge of technology solutions. The intern was able to use these services for web hosting, image content delivery, code repository, and much more.

Scott's Scholars Program

What is Scott's Scholars?

The Scott's Scholars Program is a prestigious scholarship and mentorship initiative established by the Suzanne & Walter Scott Foundation to support high-achieving students in Nebraska pursuing degrees in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Scope of work


The first project was to create a website that utilized experiential learning in web design, and convey how iEXCEL is transformative in delivering experiential learning opportunities. Our intern created a lesson plan using experiential learning, built a project around this lesson plan and then applied all of these skills to building a web based solution.

Learning Objectives: After using the web-app, users will be able to define the concept of experiential learning. And after using the web-app, users will be able to implement experiential learning principles in their respective contexts.

Experiential Learning is the process of learning by doing. Something's like web design & coding you just cant learn by seeing it being done or reading about it. You have to actually code in order to learn to code.

EXCEL's mission is to improve human performance by utilizing experiential learning. By engaging our community, colleges, medical students & others in hands-on experiences and reflection, iEXCEL is better able to connect the knowledge learned in a classroom to real-world situations improving human performance.
